Hello and welcome to my blog.
I started off with this blog with an intention of having multiple authors. Hence the name "The E Homemakers". So, if you want to contribute by writing, or convey a message through my blog, please feel free to contact me anytime. I would only love to have you around my blog. Please do no feel lost if sometime you come here and find the looks changed. I get bored really soon so I keep on adding/subtracting things.
P.S. This is a sticky post. Newer posts begin right after this one.

Pepper Chicken In a Coconut Gravy

I don't know about others, but i really like the flavor of coconut. Heres a chicken recipe i found while surfing which seems really yummy..

Ingredients :
2-2.5 pounds of chicken cut into pieces
3 tbsp of pepper powder
3-4 flakes of garlic paste
A small piece of ginger paste
Some dry coconut
unsalted butter
A few sticks of cinnamon.
Some cloves
A few cardomom seeds
2 small tomatoes
2-3 tsp coriander powder
2 Medium onions
1 tsp chilli powder
A little haldi powder
1 tsp cumin seeds powder Coriander leaves to garnish
Salt to taste

Method :

Smear 2 tbsp of pepper powder and salt on the chickenpieces.

Pierce the with a fork and let the chicken marinate for a few hours.

Heat some butter (you can also use oil!)in a pan and fry the chicken pieces one by one.

Not deep fry, just like frying onions. Keep the fried chicken pieces aside.

In the same oil (butter) you used to fry the chicken, now fry the sliced onions, cardomom, ginger, garlic, cloves and cinammon.
When the onions are brown, add the coriander powder, chilli powder, haldi, cumin powder and fry for 1½ minutes.
Add the coconut and tomatoes and keep frying. Do not add water.

Now add the remaining pepper powder (around 1 tbsp) and fry for a minute.

Now add water, enough to get a thick paste. Drop the fried chicken pieces into the gravy and you can add water to make it into a thin gravy.
Add salt to taste. Boil for 10 minutes, till chicken is well mixed with the pepper masala.

Garnish with coriander leaves. Eat hot with rice and enjoy.

  2. Do you have trouble falling asleep or sleeping through the night?
  3. Is your appetite poor, or are you losing weight without trying?
  4. Are you overeating and/or gaining weight?
  5. Do you feel unattractive and unlovable?
  6. Do you prefer to be alone?
  7. Do you feel fearful?
  8. Are you often tired and irritable?
  9. Is it an effort to do the things you used to do with ease?
  10. Do you feel hopeless about the future?
  11. Do you find it difficult to make decisions?
  12. Do you feel less enjoyment from activities that once gave you pleasure?
Scoring:

1-5: You are normal, usually able to roll with the punches.

6-10: You have a mild to moderate case of the blues. Read on to see how this can happen, and then, to the solutions.

11-14: You are moderately to markedly depressed. Consider seeking professional help.

If you were in the depressed range, you should start by consulting your physician or health practitioner to make sure there is no physical cause for your problems. Then, unless you are fortunate to have someone who does both, consult a psychotherapist and a natural medicine practitioner. A psychotherapist will deal with psychological issues, while a natural medicine practitioner will help to find any underlying chemical imbalance that might be causing the problem.
